Intermediate Squad

Our Intermediate squad is aimed at supporting athletes who want to compete at a level below that of Henley Royal Regatta, with a focus on local/regional regattas and athlete progression towards personal goals, whether that is progression into a senior programme or competition at that regional level.

The squad aims to recognise that all rowers also work full time and have social lives, allowing athletes a more flexible approach to competitive rowing with a focused training program built more around London living than high performance. Key changes such as later weekend start times, core/aspirational sessions and greater allowance for weekends away mean that you can balance work, rowing and social activities more effectively.

Vesta is proud of its tradition of developing talented athletes, either through our Learn2Row and Novice programmes or enabling experienced athletes to further develop in a competitive environment. The Intermediate squad is a key aspect of rower development in the Club, offering a springboard to those looking to develop further.

Whether you have been rowing for a few years and are looking to take your rowing to the next level or after a more flexible competitive rowing experience, the Intermediate squad at Vesta is the place for you.
