Subscribe to Vesta’s news using RSS Feed

rss-icon-772x250I’ve been asked if you can get the latest posts from this beautiful Vesta Rowing Club website in a feed that you can subscribe to. The answer is YES OF COURSE!

This means that you don’t have to keep checking the website to see if it’s changed. You can simply get the news headlines sent to your computer screen as and when updates happen.

All you have to do is go to http://www.vestarowing.co.uk/feed and then you can subscribe to the feed either using a Feed Reader that you may have already or can install, e.g. through Google Reader, Yahoo or whatever.

I’ve also added the icon on the right side bar for you to use in the future.

I hope this helps you, kids.

Nutrition Talk – Tuesday 25 October

One of the fundamental keystones for proper training, staying healthy and winning races is correct nutrition.  Whilst one can find a dizzying array of information on the internet and come to your own opinions, a sports specific briefing delivered by a professional may help to clarify some things and put you on the right track.  To that end it has been organised for a sports nutrition talk to be given at the club on the 25th of October in the front room at Vesta at 1930.  This talk is free and open to all members of the club and as such is a one time offer, don’t miss out!

The talk is being given by Matt Lovell who has been the Sports Nutritionist for the England Rugby Team since before the 2003 World Cup and has also worked with a number of professional rugby and football teams. Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity to help you achieve your goals over the coming season.

Big Breakfast and 4s Head Recce – 24 September

Big Breakfast

The Vesta annual Big Breakfast will be held at the Vesta Bar after training on Saturday 24th September (probably around 11ish). This is the traditional Vesta way of kicking off the new season while helping raise money for the tea and toast which will sustain us during the long, cold, and hard winter. So please come, bring family and friends, and eat loads of yummy porridge, sausages and breakfast goodies.

The breakfast and training session will be followed by the annual 4’s Head Recce Bar Crawl. More details to follow, but suffice it to say that it will start around 2ish, and hit all the bars along the 4s Head course (i.e. Mortlake to Putney). Make sure to eat a big breakfast to line your stomaches for an afternoon of drinking which will bring us all back to the Vesta Bar…where beers buy boats!

Any questions, please get in touch with Ailsa or Alex
