Summer cider sale!

Attention all cider drinkers and anyone who fancies a VFM pint!

We are in the process of changing our draught cider brand.

But we still have 1.5 kegs  of Aspall’s to go!

So, a cheeky Summer Cider Sale starts today, £2.00 a pint while stocks last (about 100 pints, so it shouldn’t take long!).

Vesta Bar news for Putney Town Regatta tomorrow

Vesta Bar will be open from 11am to 7pm tomorrow (Saturday 18th May). Thank you to all bar staff volunteers and Thea for organising!

And to tempt you into the bar for a beverage…

brewers-bragg On tap at the Vesta bar from tomorrow! Something a bit different, only available in May!

Viking men and women drank ale, but it was the ‘Bragg’ women who then foretold the future under the influence of the ale they had brewed. Brewed to 3.9% abv, Brewers Bragg is a wonderful deep copper ale with hints of blackcurrant. This is balanced by the smooth caramel flavours to deliver a wonderfully satisfying ale.

Vesta bar prizes tomorrow for home club members

As an extra incentive to the 25 Vesta scullers entered tomorrow, there will be prizes at the bar for:
1st woman
1st man
1st novice man
1st novice woman
1st veteran (incl handicap)

Prizes: either two bottles of Cava or a gallon of beer.
No one can win two prizes.

Think of that when you passing the island, or in fact that and a hot bacon buttie and tea. It’s sure you give you an extra push!

Bar specials for the weekend

Aspall Cyder SpecialThis Four’s head weekend will feature Sambrooks Wandle on draught, it’s so popular that our Dick can barely keep up with the demand.

A new addition to the Vesta bar this weekend will be Aspall’s Draught Suffolk Cyder, selected for you by those Cider aficionados, Alex and Thea.

Belgian Beers Now Restocked!

Just in time for this weekend, all the Belgian bottled beers are back! Check them out. Thank you Vinny!

On tap at the bar this weekend

This coming weekend, by popular demand (Robin!), we will have Sambrook’s ‘Pump House’ Pale Ale (4.2%) on draught at the Vesta bar. Time to stop by for a pint after (or instead of) training surely?!

Guess who picked a winner?

FWandleollowing on from Dick and Robin’s intrepid research into… what else… BEER… the results came in from the World Beer Awards 2012 and the one they choose from Sambrooks Brewery has only gone and won:  Wandle has been voted ‘Worlds Best Pale Bitter – under 5%’ at the World Beer Awards. Vesta’s dedicated researchers come up trumps and choose a winner! It’s in the bar, folks.

New at the bar this week!

Dick and Robin at Sambrooks

Dick and Robin doing their duty

On Saturday Dick and Robin undertook some serious research on behalf of Vesta at the Sambrooks Brewery open day. (I am happy confirm that they can organise a p*ss up in a brewery!)

Consequently we will have a couple firkins of Mr Sambrook’s Wandle on the real ale pump this week – an extra reason to attend the quiz night and the Big Breakfast. See you there!
